~With utmost gratitude~

Hi guys. I hope you’re all doing wonderful. I started Spanish Armada about 2.5 years ago. I started it because I was passionate about the tennis players who came from Spain- well because they are so darn good at the sport! I’ve enjoyed writing about them, posting endless pics, and sharing their success with all of you. But honestly I’m finding it hard these last couple of months to keep posting on a regular basis. And the primary reason for that is I feel I don’t have enough time to dedicate to it as when I first started. When my daughter first started school I didn’t realize I’d actually have to help her out with homework. lol πŸ˜€ And plus with theΒ  daily grindΒ  of chores, cooking, driving (all boring stuff!) I don’t have a whole lotta time surfing the net for fun things to post.Β  *Please understand! But before I disappear off of cyber-space I just have a few final thoughts…

Without a doubt this was my favorite post. *And that is why I chose this header as the final one! I somehow had this inkling at the start of 2011 that these guys were gonna win the Davis Cup. And when they did I was on cloud nine. Without a doubt I think they can win a couple more. I think Carlos Moya will be a dedicated captain who can help out the squad. Of course with the addition of Rafael Nadal, the squad’s chances will increase even more. πŸ˜‰best-team

I do realize that this was a blog about a group of players. I know a lot of times I came across biased towards David Ferrer. But can you really blame me?! I mean he’s a specimen of hard work and consistency. Not to mention he’s awesome in the looks department! πŸ˜‰ I hope he can carry all his success from 2013 into the coming season.he is awesome

As for Rafa- gosh he’s such aΒ  relentless beast! We are really lucky to have witnessed the greatest rivalry (even though it’s a bit one-sided) in tennis. Of course I’m talking about Rafa and Roger. I honestly don’t know if Rafa will ever catch up to Roger’s amount of majors because of the fact Rafa is injury-prone. (No mocking here!) One thing I think most people will agree on is that his success on clay will never be matched. He is amazing on the red stuff! It’s not to hard to see why he’s Spain’s most greatest sportsman! I can only imagine him picking up more French Open titles in coming years.rafaAs for the “rest of them”. Nico, Feli, Fer, Tommy and Marcel/Marc, all are a talented bunch of players no doubt. Heck, there’s a reason why they’re in the top ATP 50. I love their spirit and ability to execute exciting shots on court.

I hope all the Armada members can conclude their tennis careers with much more success!-Rafael Nadal, Feliciano Lopez, David Ferrer, Juan Carlos Ferrero, Tommy Robredocelebration

As for me, I’ll get back to my “mom” things to do. πŸ™‚ I am so grateful to all of you who read my thoughts and shared my enthusiasm for their [sometimes funny] fashion-sense, the bromance moments, reaching new levels in tennis history and their passion for the sport.

As for you guys, thank you for letting me share my passion with you. I really hope you all enjoy the coming holidays. I hope your future can bring you a lot of success and happiness. I know that we’ll all be enjoying watching tennis from our respective corners of the world. πŸ™‚

As always, with best wishes~
Iram

  1. Thanks for all the great posts over the past couple of years. Good luck with homework.

Oh, thanks for all the good wishes when I was having surgery. It meant a lot to me. I hope you’ll still stop by my blog occasionally to say hello. πŸ™‚ Congratulations on all your hard work.

    • Hi Emma,
I’m going to keep in touch hopefully with you thru ur own posts! πŸ™‚ I’m glad we share a similar liking for tennis. I hope you have awesome holidays.
It is in the middle of Dec in Cali and we’re actually experiencing 82 deg! This is not winter weather! πŸ˜›
      Take care! Warm wishes.

  2. Iram, I know I’ve not commented here much over the last year, but I have read your posts with much enjoyment: I hope you loved finding out all those little nuggets! Hope you will find enough time to keep up with watching Tennis (live or otherwise) and keep cheering Sr Ferrer on… ( Will you still post on MTF?) Best of luck for whatever you do moving on. All best for the Holiday season. Big Hugs, Carol xxx

    • Hi Carol,
You’re the first cyber-bud I ever made. Pls stay in touch thru MTF whenever u get a moment! Do you have any plans for late Dec? My kid has some time off from school and we’re just planning on spending family time with her. There will be a lot of dressups/fake cooking/cartoons…(teeny bit dreaded-haha)!! Might take a road trip somewhere, but nothing super exciting!
*Hope we can enjoy Ferru’s successes in 2014. πŸ™‚ Wishing you the best! -Iram

  3. Hi Iram, thanks for all the time and effort you’ve put into your posts – I’ve really enjoyed reading your blog. Over here Ferru and the other Spanish guys minus Rafa don’t get that much attention, so it’s been great to come on here where they’re appreciated. πŸ™‚

Hope you and your family have a great festive season and wishing you all the best for 2014 – in terms of tennis hopefully there’ll be a Davis Cup win to celebrate for Spain! πŸ™‚ Take care, Katie xx

    • Hi Katie, Hope you’re well. I’m grateful to you for all your kind words. I’m gonna miss posting about them- trust me. I know we’ll all be rejoicing for their wins. I’m really looking forward to the Aussie Open- I think Rafa has a lot to go for there!
*Happy holidays to you and your family. Take care.
