I have to admit, that final kinda let me down. Not because Nole won…but because Ferrer was up in both sets and actually had a chance to win the Bercy title. I would have felt differently had Nole blown him away-maybe because most people would have expected a Nole destruction. Our guy had a fighting chance-and well, in other words he blew it! And you know I don’t mean that in distaste, I wish David the best of luck in all he does.
Well, he’ll need luck-and that same fighting spirit he showed against Berdych and Rafa a few days ago. They’re both in his group in London. In fact here are the two groups:
Group A Group B
Rafael Nadal Novak Djokovic
David Ferrer Juan Martin Del Potro
Tomas Berdych Roger Federer
Stan Wawrinka Richard Gasquet
Okay, I have to say…I’m SUPER-PSYCHED for Fernando and David Marrero. They had an amazing year. They deserve to be here. It’ll be a tough first match…they play their buds and last years champions ‘M&M’!
Make that 6 Spaniards into the London finals. C’mon, that says a lot about the nation producing some talented players in the sport! Let’s see if they can hold up to their hype. Have a great week. This is our last week to watch tennis in 2013.
