Battle of Tall Men

*Rafa is making tennis look easy! He beat Benjamin Becker 6-2, 6-2. He’ll face Dimitrov next. Remember this is the player who took a set off Rafa this year at Monte Carlo.

*Marcel was beaten today by Tommy Haas. However he along with Marc are still in contention  for doubles.

*Ferrer will face Dmitry Tursunov on Thursday. Kinda surprised to have seen the fact the the Russian leads their H2H 1-0. (2013, Barcelona) Anyway Ferru better play much better than he did yesterday. I’d hate for him to reach the U.S. Open with such little preparation under his belt.prac makes perfect

**The battle of the tall men are between Juan Martin Del Potro and Feliciano Lopez. On Wednesday Feli beat Jeremy Chardy (the Frenchman retired)- it does seem like he’s finding his form these days. The two have a 3-3 H2H. The last time they met was in Sydney in 2011 where Feli lost. JMDP has overall a better game and more effective shot placement than the Spaniard. Let’s see how the match goes. There’s a teeny-bit of Iram-added-drama due to their 2008 Davis Cup match. 😉 I can’t out my  finger on it exactly, but whenever the Argentinians (like Nalby or JMDP or Monaco) play against Feli, Fer, or Ferru, or Rafa…I feel like there’s another *unseen* level in their match. I know I’m being silly! Here’s a pic from a couple of years ago. Hope it’s a fun match.
