  1. Happy Independence Day, Iram!! I hope you’re enjoying the summer before your daughter starts school 🙂

Sorry for Ferru’s loss — he did seem a bit tired after playing the Roland Garros final. It’s nice to hear that he won’t try to play Bastad and the summer claycourt season. I think it’s a good idea for him to rest for 3-4 weeks, given all the tennis he’s played so far this year. I’m sure he’ll come back in full force at the hard court swing, after a much-deserved break.

As for Fer, WOW! He lost the match but I totally did not expect him to go 5 sets. It would have been so amazing if he managed to pull off the upset, but I guess that was unlikely to happen after he lost the 3rd and 4th sets. Still, it was nice to see him play like he used to. It was a nice surprise to see him ripping those FHs.

    • Hi mariposaxprs~ (sorry for replying late) those forehands of Fer’s you’re mentioning…haven’t seen them for a long time. For the last couple of years he would get so frustrated on court. He seemed to maintain his cool. I think he’s is in the right direction if he can play like this.
*Yeah it was a teeny-sucky that Ferru lost. But on the flip side it was nice to see Delpo win. It was like he was playing back in 2009. He’s back! Cant wait to see him at U.S. Open.
~Whatever Ferrer tweeted about which was bothering him…hope it heals soon. He’s number three in the world. It is an elite status and he should try to live up to that.

  2. Happy Independence Day! 🙂

It’s a shame that Ferru lost yesterday. It can’t have been easy for him playing so many matches with a sprained ankle and not being able to practise much – he did well to get to the QF. Delpo played a great match yesterday, I’d like him to get to the final. Hope Ferru has a good break – he definitely deserves his time off. 🙂

As an Andy fan, Fernando made me so nervous yesterday! He played brilliantly – he reminded me of his AO 2009 form (where he beat Andy). Hope he can keep on working hard and work his way back up the rankings again – he’s got so much talent.

    • Thank you Katie. Had fun seeing a lot of fireworks here.
I’m sure the tennis fans of U.K. were ecstatic with Murrays win. It’s so nice to see that he got this title. No more pressure on him. He thoroughly outplayed Nole.
I agree with you regarding Verdasco. He usually comes to California in the summer to get training done. I think he trains with Andre Agassi and Gil Reyes. He has a lot of firepower, it’s just a matter of him composing his mentality out their on the court. (I’m sorry for replying late)
      all the best!
