What an amazing day. I loved it. How amazing does Ferru feel for being able to make it to his second consecutive French Open semifinal?! That too without dropping a set. He dominated in his quarterfinal. It was two sets down too many; as Tommy Robredo wasn’t able to keep up with Ferru. His whole game was on fire and he wrapped up the match 6-2, 6-1, 6-1. The crowd is going to be behind Tsonga; it’s his first semi-final appearance in Roland Garros. It’ll definitely be a Davis Cup atmosphere. I think David can play well under pressure at times He’s proved to do on many occasions. *David Ferrer leads the H2H 2-1; and the only time they played on clay was in 2010 Rome Masters (D.F. won).
I like David’s chances of beating Tsonga. It is honestly better that he’s playing Tsonga rather than Roger (0-14H2H). I think the key will be to play well off his serve and return consistently. He’s gonna have to go for it all!
Unfortunately Marc and Marcel lost their quarterfinal against Mahot/Llodra 3-6, 6-1, 3-6. Marrero/Verdasco are still in the race and they will face the Bryan Bros next.
Rafael Nadal will take on Stan Wawrinka on Wednesday. Though it’s the best of five and Stan had been playing some high quality tennis, I think it’s gonna be pretty much the same as the Madrid final. Rafa has a 9-0 H2H against the Swiss. I don’t see any upset tomorrow.
Hope you guys are having a good week so far. 🙂
